Smash Hits!

Very excited to announce my new album, Smash Hits! I went to Bear Bites Horse studios in London to record this one with producer Wayne Adams over three days in March. For the third day Sarah came to join me. I wanted to work in a new way and push myself to learn, and that certainly happened!

Smash Hits! Is a collection of cover versions arranged and performed by people who have never heard the original songs.
Armed only with the reviews these tracks received in Smash Hits magazine, each song has been imaginatively recreated based on the descriptions alone. The songs, bands, notation and lyrics were all unresearched and what we are left with are the pictures the journalists conjured in Pettaluck's mind. This is her first studio release, following a string of self recorded DIY albums released on Wrieuw, TQ-Naut and Wormhole World respectively.  The influence of producer Wayne Adams and live band member Sarah Anne Jardin plus a guest turn from Lee Ashcroft have somehow added even more mayhem to Pettaluck's multi genre, technicolour world, which this time embraces more guitar and electronics than usual while retaining the dark wit and earthy woodwinds of yore.
The album will be released as a physical magazine with download on September 17th.
We will also be releasing a podcast of the first time Emma and Sarah hear the original tracks and their discussion of how close they are to these versions! 

Well I can reveal that we have already recorded the podcast where we listen to the originals and a fun night it was too! I'll be popping the link up here when it's edited and uploaded. More updates here as they happen and keep an eye on the gig page as there are a few shows coming this Autumn.
